Ring Story

Ring Story- Wedding.jpg

“In the 1930’s my grandfather, Hyman Honig, “Papa” an immigrant from Jerusalem (arrived New York City at the beginning of the 20th century) purchased a diamond ring for his wife, Jennie. During the Great Depression, when Prohibition ended Jennie and Hyman applied for and received the first liquor store license in Brooklyn. Their store was located in Brighton Beach and it exists today, owned and operated by a Korean immigrant.

Grandma Jennie would have been thrilled to know that her great granddaughter was now wearing her ring.”
